Bangkok, Thailand – TrueVisions and The Walt Disney Company, Southeast Asia have announced the launch of a new channel for Thailand, Disney XD (DXD) as well as the expanded nationwide launch of Disney Channel and Disney Junior. All three channels will be localised and specially created for the Thai market.
Subscribers to any TrueVisions pay package will be able to watch Disney content from September 15, 2013 with no extra fee – the first time TrueVisions is offering an international network to subscribers on all packages. Disney and TrueVisions are also working to make Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD available as authenticated simulcasts and catch-up services on TrueVisions’ TV Anywhere service.
Home to Marvel animation with shows such as Ultimate Spiderman, Avengers Assemble and upcoming series Hulk Agents of Smash, DXD will be Thailand’s first kids HD channel from Disney available in Thai.
Anat Mekpaiboonvatana, Managing Director, TrueVisions Group said, “The collaboration with Disney is part of TrueVisions’ three-pillar strategy to maintain its industry leadership in the long term. The first pillar is technology and innovation – the company recently launched TrueVisions Anywhere as Thailand’s first mobile pay-TV service, which has met with excellent consumer acceptance. The second pillar is content – the company offers its subscribers content that is better and ahead of the competition for a long time and has the most varied and largest number of channels, and the third pillar is service – TrueVisions subscribers enjoy better service, including TrueVisions Care that is available 24/7 as well as over 2000 distributors to look after subscribers nationwide.”
