Los Angeles, U.S – WOWOW Inc., a premium paid television company in Japan, will stream the four-hour live global concert, Sound of Change from London on the network’s digital Members on Demand channel alongside international broadcasters NBC in the US and BBC in the UK on June 1, 2013. Headliner Beyonce will be joined by Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, Florence + the Machine, Ellie Goulding and others as part of Gucci’s Chime for Change effort to promote female empowerment worldwide. Presenters at the concert will include Madonna, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Gordon and Sarah Brown, Gloria Steinem, James Franco, Freida Pinto, Aishwarya Rai, Jessica Chastain, and Zoe Saldana.
Additionally, WOWOW has acquired the Japanese broadcast rights to the documentary Beyonce: Life is but a Dream. The documentary will be aired on the network’s WOWOW Live channel on June 9, followed by a two-hour highlights program of the Sound of Change global concert.
