Miami – Maid in Manhattan, distributed by Telemundo Internacional, made its debut in Africa last week with its premiere in Uganda.

The telenovela is an adaptation of the Sony Pictures film Maid in Manhattan by Luis Zelkowickz, who is currently working on the scripts for the highly anticipated Telemundo telenovela El Señor de los Cielos, to premiere shortly on the network in the U.S.
Maid in Manhattan is a production of Telemundo in association with Sony Pictures Television. It has been distributed in more than 50 countries including territories in America, Europe and Asia. In the U.S., it reached the network’s highest audience for a finale in its 8pm timeslot with 1.2 million adult viewers ages 18 – 49 in its final episode.
The modern Cinderella tale tells the story of Marisa Lujan, a young Mexican woman who, for unforeseen reasons immigrated in the United States with her 10-year-old son. In Manhattan, she finds a job as a maid in one of the most luxurious and prestigious hotels in the big apple. This romantic love story flourishes when, after a twist of fate, she meets Cristobal Parker a successful businessman who mistakes her for a hotel guest. This moment marks the beginning of a story in which two hearts will reveal their true identities to make way for love.
