Armie Jarin-Bennett has joined CNN Asia Pacific as Executive Director of CNN Broadcast Services & Affiliate Relations. An Emmy Award-winner, Jarin-Bennett takes up the Hong Kong-based position following more than fifteen years working at CNN in the U.S.
In her new role, she will be responsible for all CNN broadcast sales and affiliate support in the Asia Pacific region. Working in coordination with Turner’s Networks & Content Distribution team in their respective markets, she is charged with managing all after-sales support initiatives for broadcasters including product training, broadcast workshop management and editorial support to affiliate newsrooms.
A Filipino national, Jarin-Bennett joined CNN Headline News in 1997 as a video journalist before moving to CNN International in 2000 as News Producer. In 2004, she was promoted to Supervising Producer in charge of daily production of news programs out of Atlanta and Hong Kong, before further expanding her responsibilities as Executive Producer in 2008, overseeing newsroom operations in Atlanta including daily news editorial direction as well as production work across international bureaus. Additionally, Jarin-Bennett has worked closely alongside the CNN International Newsource team to develop and conduct training for CNN’s affiliates’ journalists through the CNN Journalism Fellowship Program (CJF). In October last year, she was among the recipients of CNN’s Emmy for “Outstanding live coverage of a current news story – long format” for documenting the revolution in Egypt.
