Singapore – Taiwanese public broadcaster PTS is joining The Asian Pitch, an initiative launched by NHK, MediaCorp and KBS to fund original HD docos produced by filmmakers based in Asia.

PTS will officially be on board in 2013. With the Taiwanese broadcaster’s involvement, The Asian Pitch will broaden its outreach to more Asian filmmakers and find more Asian stories that need to be told.

Dr. Sunshine Kuang, President of PTS, tells TV ASIA Plus that the documentary producers need an established platform like The Asian Pitch, which has become a significant international documentary platform. She hopes that through this venture, PTS will be able to provide talented filmmakers the support that they need.
