Hong Kong –Joongang Tongyang Broadcasting Company (JBTC) will be airing the opening two matches of Korea’s Taegeuk Warriors in the final qualifying round for the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil, according to the World Sport Group (WSG). JBTC will be broadcasting the visit of Choi Kang-hee’s team to Qatar and the team’s first home game of the campaign against Lebanon.
JBTC is one of Korea’s largest broadcasters, reaching out to more than 90 percent of the country’s households. The deal with WSC will ensure that football fans across the nation will be able to follow the National Team’s progress in these opening matches as it aims to qualify for an eighth consecutive FIFA World Cup finals and an Asian record ninth in total.
This deal between WSG and JBTC was finalized after after lengthy negotiations with the Korean TV pool, including KBS, MBC and SBS.
