International cooking format Junior MasterChef, is returning to kids channel CBBC later this year, after a two-year hiatus.
The BAFTA-nominated series is back to give some of Britain’s best young cooks the chance to follow in the footsteps of 2010 champion, Georgia Bradford, and become Junior MasterChef 2012. Based on the hugely successful MasterChef series, the format will feature 15 half hour episodes, consisting of eight heats, two quarterfinals, four semis and a final cook-off.
Junior MasterChef is being made for CBBC by Shine Television Limited. It is commissioned by Damian Kavanagh and Executive Produced for CBBC by Bridget Banton, The Executive Producer for Shine is Karen Ross, and the Producer is Antonia Lloyd.
Applications are now open for the second series. Filming takes place this August in London. To apply, children must be UK residents, and be aged between 9 and 12 on the 6th of August.
