Singapore – MediaCorp is putting into effect a few key management and structural changes from today. This streamlining is to better align itself to changing business needs and affects mainly the company’s media operations.
The network programming and promotions of Channels 5, 8, U, okto, Suria and Vasantham will now come under Lim Suat Jien in her new role as Managing Director, Television. She will be assisted by Khiew Voon Kwang, Deputy Managing Director, Television, to grow the network and drive synergies across channels.
Ong Lay Hong will relinquish her responsibilities at Suria and Vasantham to focus on steering Singapore Media Academy as its Managing Director. Channel NewsAsia will continue to be run by Managing Director Debra Soon.
The company will also set up a studio operation housing all television production units spanning four languages (English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil) and three entertainment genres (variety, drama and infotainment). Doreen Neo will lead as Managing Director, Studios, producing for MediaCorp’s free-to-air channels as well as other platforms and overseas markets.
