Miami, Florida – The Cisneros Group of Companies and China Central Television (CCTV) have signed an agreement to facilitate each organization’s entertainment catalogues. In the initial stage of the alliance, the two companies will focus on exchanging documentaries with cultural and historical value to increase understanding of each other’s cultures. CCTV Documentary Channel will dedicate a segment of its programming titled “Latin Week”, to broadcast documentaries provided by the Cisneros Group’s Venevision International; in exchange, the Cisneros Group will secure a pan-regional channel to air throughout Latin America a collection of documentaries produced by CCTV. Endorsed at NATPE 2012, this media accord will provide access for both organizations to a potential audience that surpasses 1.5 billion people, a combined population of the Ibero-American countries and People’s Republic of China.
