Seven. One Studios International inks slate of deals across its scripted slate

November 18, 2024 by TVA Editor

Vienna Blood 4

Seven. One Studios International closed a raft of European and Australian deals across its scripted slate, following a successful MIPCOM. Deals have been concluded for a range of English-language series including long-running premium dramas and young-skewing comedies.

Season four of the hit period crime drama Vienna Blood (S4: 2 x 90’ or 4 x 45’; total episodes: 11 x 90′ or 22 x 45′), which launched at MIPCOM 2024, has sold to Mediawan Rights for French-speaking Europe, RTP Portugal, Movistar Spain, TV4 Sweden and to Viasat World for its Epic Drama channel across CEE. Additional sales include all four seasons heading to DR Denmark, blue Entertainment for their IPTV-Platform blue TV; seasons 1-3 to SBS Australia, Telemadrid and TV Aragon in Spain; and season one to TV Galicia and A Punt (Valencia). From acclaimed screenwriter Steve Thompson, Vienna Blood is produced by Endor Productions and MR Film, for ORF (Austria) and ZDF (Germany). The compelling, fan-favorite series, starring Matthew Beard and Juergen Maurer, has already been licensed to over 100 territories including the UK (BBC) and US (PBS).

Elsewhere, SBS Australia has acquired all three seasons of high-octane conspiracy thriller Departure (S1: 6 x 45’; S2: 6 x 45′; S3: 6 x 45′), starring Archie Panjabi. The series has also landed at blue TV Switzerland – which has acquired seasons one and two; season three of the drama has sold to RAI Italy and Disney for distribution across channels operating in the MENA region. The series is produced by Shaftesbury, Greenpoint Productions, Deadpan Pictures, Pope Productions in association with Corus Entertainment, Starlings Television and Seven. One Studios International for Global (Canada).

Talpa TV in the Netherlands has acquired the high-concept psychological drama Plan B (S1: 6 x 45′; S2: 6 x 45′). Produced by KOTV for CBC (Canada), the acclaimed anthology series features a star-studded cast led by Patrick J Adams for season one and Vinessa Antoine for season two. The drama was recently recommissioned for a third season. Additionally, seasons one to three of iconic crime drama Bosch (total episodes: 68 x 45′) starring Titus Welliver, are headed to CANAL+ Group’s channel POLAR+ for France and SBS Australia, while Samsung TV Plus (GAS and UK) and Kan Israel have acquired all seven seasons of the drama. The series is produced by Fabrik Entertainment for Amazon Prime Video (US).

Across Seven. One Studios International’s comedy slate ABC Australia has acquired season two of warm-hearted comedy drama Double Parked (S1: 8 x 30’; S2: 8 X 30′), which launched at MIPCOM this year. The hit comedy, produced by Kevin & Co for Warner Bros Discovery (NZ) follows couple Steph and Nat as they navigate double pregnancies and twice the chaos. TV Galicia (Spain) has acquired season one of the series, alongside the poignant and acclaimed comedy A Beginner’s Guide to Grief (6 x 10’) produced by KOJO Studios in association with SBS (Australia), Screen Australia and the South Australian Film Corporation.

Tim Gerhartz, Managing Director at Seven. One Studios International, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with top broadcasters to bring our premium scripted titles to screens across Europe and Australia. Our scripted slate offers a broad range of high-quality, unique stories from talented producers across the globe. These recent deals underscore the universal appeal and diverse perspectives of our content and show that there is huge appetite for premium storytelling that captivates viewers imaginations.”
