New York, NY – History today announced a 12-hour, six night television event Mankind The Story Of All Of Us. Already two years in the making, the series is now in production and will premiere later this year. Mankind will be the network’s first series to receive a global premiere. Supporting this project will be an educational initiative as well as companion programming on History’s new spin-off network, H2. The natural history series looks at the history of the human race through the ages, examining what is unique about us to have become the dominant species on the planet, when more than 99.9 per cent of all species have since gone extinct. History is working with the same Nutopia production team that made America the Story of Us an Emmy-winning programme in 2010 and the most-watched special in the network’s history.
