Hong Kong – PCCW has entered into a partnership with Manchester United (Man Utd) that makes the company the official integrated telecommunications partner and official broadcast partner of Man Utd in Hong Kong – the first such arrangement in the territory. Through this partnership, now TV will in the next three years become the Official Broadcaster of MUTV in Hong Kong with the exclusive broadcasting rights of MUTV, MUTV Online and MU Mobile contents. These will also be available on PCCW’s other quadruple-play platforms of now.com.hk, PCCW mobile and PCCW eye2. MUTV is a 24-hour linear channel that offers a wide range of football and club-related programs and matches. The channel will be airing recorded, full coverage of Manchester United matches in the Premier League, UEFA Champions League plus live coverage of Manchester United 2010 pre-season friendly matches in North America and Ireland. The channel will also show match highlights, match day build-up, exclusive interviews, club news, player access, classic matches and numerous magazine and documentaries programs. MUTV programs will also be available on-demand online, offering total flexibility in viewing options for Man Utd fans. Furthermore, PCCW and Manchester United will also jointly develop a promotional microsite, in Chinese and English, specifically tailored for local Man Utd fans. Through various promotion and subscription reward initiatives, fans will have chances to win autographed Man Utd merchandise and gain access to tickets and hospitality packages at the Old Trafford during the team’s Premier League and UEFA Champions League home matches. To be launched on now TV’s channel 640 on 15 July 2010, MUTV is available together with the MUTV online on-demand service for subscription at a monthly fee of HK$50. Those renewing their Mega Sports Pack will be eligible to promotion offers.
