Hong Kong – National Geographic announced the launch of the National Geographic Application for BlackBerry smartphone users in Hong Kong and Australia. The application is the first Hong Kong-developed National Geographic application designated for the BlackBerry platform and features a collection of wallpapers, ring-tones and video highlights from the National Geographic Channel. Inspiring BlackBerry smartphone users to explore the real world at their fingertips, the National Geographic Application delivers National Geographic content and programming based on National Geographic’s multimedia archive, and is available for BlackBerry smartphone users in Hong Kong from PCCW mobile and in Australia on BlackBerry App World (www.blackberry.com/appworld ). “We aim to create new business opportunities in the burgeoning mobile spectrum with our premium content for our advertisers in Asia,” said Ward Platt, president, Asia Pacific and the Middle East, National Geographic Channel. The National Geographic Application is available for BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry OS 4.3 or higher.
