Singapore – In collaboration with host broadcaster MediaCorp, GlobeCast and AP Global Media Services, a division of The Associated Press, will provide international satellite delivery and full broadcast services and facilities for APEC Singapore 2009 to broadcasters worldwide from 8 to15 November 2009 at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre. The event is an important annual forum for politicians and business leaders from APEC member economies who account for approximately 40% of the world’s population, 54% of world GDP and about 44% of world trade. MediaCorp, together with GlobeCast and AP will provide transmission services and facilities to international broadcasters covering the gathering of the leaders of 21 member economies. Facilities include fully manned live standup positions within the International Media Centre and multi-format tape playout facilities. Through this collaboration, broadcasters can tap into GlobeCast’s and AP’s global fibre and satellite network for international satellite delivery and turnaround on AsiaSat, Eutelsat and Intelsat satellites for Asia, Europe and the Americas via GlobeCast’s points of presence (PoP) in Culver City, Los Angeles and AP in New York and Washington DC. Additionally, GlobeCast will extend its worldwide reach to Africa via Johannesburg.
