Los Angeles – Fox International Channels (FIC) announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Fireworks International, the television and digital programming distribution arm of ContentFilm plc. The agreement grants Fireworks International the rights to distribute FIC’s original short form content to non-News Corp. owned media platforms around the world. The distribution deal comes on the heels of FIC’s global plan to release its six original short form series, under the brand ‘FoxBytes’, on FIC’s multi-media platforms this summer. Fireworks International will then expand ‘FoxBytes’ distribution to third party platforms all over the world starting November 2009. The series will be advertiser supported and offered on a streaming, VOD and SVOD basis. It will also be versioned in each of the local markets. FIC’s 3.5 hours of original content include Single Dads, a comedy that chronicles the misadventures of two young dads struggling with the responsibility of having kids and raising them on their own; Security 7, an animation series about a secret American military base hidden in the middle of nowhere in the Middle East; and Dito, a stop motion animation series about every man’s unleashed alter ego.
