Singapore – ESPN STAR Sports will promote the World Games 2009 Kaohsiung across Asia on its broadcast network and a series of customized and engaging on-ground events. In Singapore, ESPN STAR Sports held its Kaohsiung World Games 9 Ball Challenge, which featured two Chinese Taipei players, Yang Ching Shun and Cerie Chang, showcasing their skills against Singapore pool champions Bernard Tey and Charlene Chai to spectators at the Raffles City Shopping Centre. Besides Singapore, ESPN STAR Sports’ Event Management group has offered its expertise to develop on-ground events to raise the profile of the World Games 2009 Kaohsiung in Malaysia and China. ESPN STAR Sports will showcase the World Games 2009 Kaohsiung on its STAR Sports broadcast networks across Asia, comprising at least 60 hours of live coverage on its STAR Sports Taiwan beam over the 10 days of competition in addition to the broadcast of the opening and closing ceremony. Its other STAR Sports networks will air 30-min event highlights on a daily basis during the competition.
