Hong Kong – PCCW Media Limited announced that its new self-produced Cantonese infotainment channel – now Hong Kong (channel 100) – will begin broadcasting on December 12. The new channel will be led by PCCW’s VP of now Hong Kong, Felix To. Available in high-definition and standard-definition formats, the new channel will carry self-produced infotainment programs and talk shows featuring Hong Kong celebrities. Besides broadcasting unique in-house programs, now Hong Kong channel will also source a selection of TV programs from around the world, such as the Japanese Horrormedics variety show, in which household medical knowledge is presented as a dark-humored variety show. Another will be Change from Korea, a variety show about the best known faces in the Korean entertainment industry ‘mutating’ into frumpy 60 year olds.
