Singapore – SingTel announced the launch of a new Malay language channel, Astro ARUNA, premiering on mio TV (Channel 35) on 6 October. The new channel is a 24-hour channel that will feature the best of Indonesian dramas featuring popular actors such as Ari Wibowo, Lulu Tobing, Lenna Tan, Alexandra Gottardo and Anjasmara. These dramas are telecast immediately after production and are first run premieres on the channel in Singapore. Fans of Indonesian content can look forward to popular dramas such as Wah Cantiknya 2, Perempuan, Tersanjung and Akibat Banyak Gaul. “We recognise the lack of a dedicated Malay language channel broadcasting current drama series,”said Low Ka Hoe, director of mio TV and content. “Astro ARUNA will add on the best of Indonesian content and we are confident that it will be well-received by our Malay-speaking viewers.”
