Tokyo – BBC World Japan Limited and The New Media Group, KK (TNMG) reached agreement for carriage of BBC World News, the BBC’s commercially funded 24-hour news and information channel, on the World On-Demand IPTV platform in Japan, from September 5. The carriage agreement will enable English-enabled expatriate communities in Japan, such as North Indians, Australians, Northern Europeans and British, that are served by World On-Demand to see BBC World News for the first time in the market. Kaz Matsuda, managing director, BBC World Japan Limited, says, “The agreement enables us to offer the World On-Demand subscribers in Japan the opportunity to view BBC World News which provides impartial, in-depth analysis of breaking news as well as looking at the stories behind the headlines.”
