Singapore – AETN All Asia Networks (AAAN) has appointed Richard Woo as director of new media and affiliate sales. Based in AAAN’s regional office in Singapore, Woo reports to Louis Boswell, general manager, AAAN, and is responsible for distribution of AAAN channel brands including The History Channel and Crime & Investigation Network in South East Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. He will also drive sales for the company’s digital media assets, including websites, mobile, broadband and VOD services. Woo joins from ESPN STAR Sports where he was director of affiliate and multimedia sales, responsible for affiliate and syndication sales of the sports channels in South East Asia. AAAN is planning to launch The Biography Channel and The History Channel HD in the region, and will deploy its channel brands and programming via VOD, mobile, and broadband. It currently operates The History Channel and Crime & Investigation Network in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Brunei, and only the former in Thailand, with both channels to launch in Indonesia and Taiwan in Q3, 2008.
