Hong Kong – Celestial Pictures has unveiled new channels Celestial Movies Asia (CMA) and Celestial Classic Movies (CCM) to debut April 15, 2008 in Hong Kong on PCCW’s IPTV service now TV. Terry Mak, executive vice president, distribution and TV networks, Celestial Pictures said, “The launch of CCM and CMA is setting a new milestone in the promotion of Asian cinema in Hong Kong and we are proud to debut these two channels on now TV.” CMA screens Asian blockbusters while CCM features Chinese classic movies from the Shaw Brothers film collection and other film libraries. CMA will offer more than 100 movies from Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Thailand and Singapore each month. Films include Cha Tae-hyun’s Two Guys, Erika Sawajiri’s Closed Note, Francis Ng’s One Last Dance, Kimura Takuya’s Love and Honor, Kwon Sang-woo’s Running Wild and Yuko Takeuchi’s Spring Snow. Other content airing on the channel includes sneak previews and exclusive behind-the-scenes segments. CCM will air classic movies from directors including John Woo, Yuen Woo Ping, Chang Cheh, King Hu and Liu Chia-liang, as well as actors such as Jet Li, Chow Yun-fat, Stephen Chow, Maggie Cheung, Andy Lau, Bridgette Lam, Gordon Liu and Ti Lung. CMA and CCM are available to now TV subscribers at HK$42 (US$5.40) and HK$21 (US$2.70) per month on a 12-month contract respectively.
