FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has partnered with The Travel Channel to be the exclusive international distributor for the latter’s original programming including a catalogue of more than 200 hours shows from the US Travel Channel as well as a first-look at new productions for possible co-financing for international distribution. FME will offer The Travel Channel library at MIPTV. Programming on offer includes HD shows Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (20 X 1 hr), which profiles Bourdain, executive chef at Brasserie Les Halles, on a journey around the world to meet people and see places beyond food; Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern (14 x 1hr) which follows the chef and food writer on his travels as he eats bear, tongue, pigeon, brain, turtle soup, and pig’s toes; Samantha Brown Passport to China (3 x 1hr) which features the travel presenter’s tour of China being rebuilt as a tourist Mecca for the 2008 Olympics. Best Places to Find Cash and Treasures (28 x 30’) is an Indigo Films production which features host Kirsten Gumm’s journey to uncover relics, buried jewels and other valuable items at real locations accessible to the public. Other titles to be available at MIPTV include Jack Hannah, America the Wright Way, Stranded with Cash Peters, Trip of a Lifetime, Wave Chasers and Sand Blasters.
