Englewood, Colorado/ Hong Kong – DISH Network, a satellite TV service provider in the US and STAR have launched five Asian TV channels on the DISH Network platform The pact is STAR’s largest US distribution deal to date and complements DISH Network’s existing South Asian and Chinese channel offerings. STAR India Plus and STAR India One, STAR’s Indian channels will be available as part of DISH Network’s international programming offering from March 19, 2008. STAR’s Mandarin-language channels including STAR Chinese Channel, STAR Chinese Movies 2 and music channel Channel [V] Taiwan will be added on March 26. David Wisnia, STAR’s senior vice president for distribution and sales and head of STAR’s North American and European offices said, “Today’s announcement allows us to significantly expand the reach of our services to the Asian Diaspora in the US.” DISH Network Corporation has a customer base of more than 13.78 million and offers video and audio channels offering international, interactive TV, Latino, as well as HD sports and movies programming.
