Hong Kong – Sanrio Digital, a JV between Typhoon Games (HK) Ltd and Sanrio Co Ltd, has announced sales of 3D CGI animation series The Adventures of Hello Kitty & Friends. The 52-episode series is the first Sanrio Digital series made in Hong Kong and is also the first to be made completely with advanced CGI technology that presents Hello Kitty and all other characters in new 3D digital bodies. Co-produced by Sanrio Digital and Dream Cortex, The Adventures of Hello Kitty & Friends is being distributed by Typhoon Media. Having premiered in February on TVB Jade in Hong Kong and Cartoon Network Italy, The Adventures of Hello Kitty & Friends was sold by Typhoon Media to Asian broadcasters including Mediacorp in Singapore, Cartoon Network in Taiwan, the Philippines’ GMA7 and Thailand’s TIGA. European media groups including RTP in Portugal, MTV3 in Finland, TV2 in Norway, and the Carrere Group in France also picked up the series. Further sales of The Adventures of Hello Kitty & Friends are expected, with various deals in the final stages of negotiations. Focusing on the themes of happiness, family, friendship, ethics and educational value, the series follows the adventures of Sanrio characters including Hello Kitty, Dear Daniel, My Melody, Keroppi, Badtz Maru, and Pochacco, and is suitable for children and families. In Hong Kong, The Adventures of Hello Kitty & Friends airs on TVB Jade on Saturdays and Sundays at 4pm, with two episodes shown each time.
