Sydney – Showtime movie networks isn’t waiting to see how subscribers respond to its steamy new Australian drama Satisfaction: it has commissioned a second series. Created and produced by Roger Simpson and set in an upmarket brothel, Satisfaction premieres on Dec. 5 as one of the opening week attractions on spin-off channel Showcase. “It is beautifully produced with compelling scripts about a secret and intriguing world. The performances by the cast are outstanding and we look forward to continuing to reveal the secret lives of their characters in season two,” said Showtime CEO Peter Rose. Fully financed by Showtime, the second season of 10 x 1 hours will again be shot in Melbourne with pre-production planned for early 2008. All the regular cast members, including Diana Glenn, Kestie Morassi, Bojana Novakovic, Peta Sergeant and Alison Whyte, are returning. Fremantle Media Enterprises, which has international rights to Satisfaction, introduced the show to Asian buyers at last week’s Asia Television Forum.
