Parthenon Entertainment Ltd, UK-based producer and distributor of factual and children’s programming, will partner Entara Ltd, a global entertainment rights company, to create a business encompassing programming production and distribution as well as licensing, to expand into the factual entertainment and children’s entertainment markets. Both companies’ libraries will be represented worldwide by Parthenon Entertainment as a new entity specializing with family entertainment production and rights management, with combined revenues of £8 million and a presence in the UK, US and Germany. Carl Hall, Founder and Managing Director of Parthenon Entertainment, will become CEO of the new group. David Cardwell, Chairman of Entara Ltd, will be Chairman of Parthenon Entertainment, while Theresa Plummer-Andrews will remain as Non-Executive Director of Entara and will serve as Non-Executive Director of Parthenon Entertainment. Regis Brown, former Executive Vice President at Entara, will join Parthenon Entertainment as President of Parthenon Kids and oversee all Parthenon Kids’ children’s properties as well as those previously handled by Entara. Brown will also retain a seat on the board of Entara. Parthenon Entertainment’s existing senior management will remain. Entara’s portfolio of children’s brands includes The Magic Roundabout, Those Scurvy Rascals, Jakers! And The Adventures of Piggley Winks, as well as being the third party agent for Habbo, an online community for teenagers with over 78 million characters created worldwide.
