Singapore – Channel NewsAsia’s long running lifestyle show, Japan Hour, started airing across the region on Nov. 10 following an agreement inked with series coordinator Sumitomo Corporation and ad agency Hakuhodo, to bring the series to Channel NewsAsia International. Japan Hour is produced by TV Tokyo, spotlighting lesser-known travel spots, countryside inns and spas across Japan. Narrated in Japanese and subtitled in English, Japan Hour has proven to be popular in Singapore, and has run for 15 years. Woon Chuk Chan, Vice President, Network Programming and Promotions said, “Year-on-year, it (Japan Hour) remains (among) the top 10 shows on the channel in Singapore, attracting some 1.6 million viewers a year. We’re confident that with Channel NewsAsia International’s reach to viewers in more than 20 territories, the show will garner the same level of passion about all things Japanese, as much as viewers in Singapore.” Japan Hour on Channel NewsAsia airs on Saturday, 7.30pm and is repeated on Sunday at 8am and 1pm (SIN/HK).
