Taipei – Star Chinese Movies channel will produce the 44th Golden Horse Awards Ceremony, scheduled for Dec. 8 at The Taipei Arena. It will also exclusively broadcast the event live in Taiwan. The awards recognize excellence in Chinese films in the categories of Best Picture, Short Film, Documentary and Animation. Individual awards include Best Director, Leading Actor/Actress, Supporting Actor/Actress, New Performer, Original Screenplay, Screenplay Adaptation, Cinematography, Visual Effects, Art Direction, Make Up & Costume Design, Action Choreography, Original Film Score, Original Film Song, Editing and Sound Effects. Special awards include Best Taiwanese Film of the Year and Best Taiwanese Filmmaker of the Year. A non-competition award is the Audience Choice Award.
