Singapore’s delegation heading to MIPCOM will be its largest with a record 24 companies offering almost 100 programs for sale and distribution. This is Singapore’s seventh year of participation in the audiovisual and digital content market which runs from October 8 – 12 in Cannes. Of the titles available, 57 projects will be making their market debut. These include Peach Blossom Media’s 2D animated series Tales Alive, an adaptation from 9 original children’s storybooks by Singapore writers. Other animated content, which makes up half of the offerings, includes new titles like Scrawl Studios’ Clang Invasion, a sci-fi comedy featuring alien robots and Pixelworx’s Free Radicalz, a series about an aspiring teenage band. In addition, 27 documentaries and 23 lifestyle shows will be available including Singapore’s Oak3 Films and Korea’s Channel Q’s co-production, Taming the Savage: Prowess, Plunder and Butchery of the Far East Pirates, the first project under the co-production agreement signed between MDA and the Korean Broadcasting Commission in June 2007.
