Sydney—Production of a third series of 26 episodes of Southern Star’s hit teen drama Blue Water High has begun on Sydney’s northern beaches for Australia’s ABC-TV. Southern Star Executive Producer Noel Price says he wasn’t expecting a third series but he was happy to respond to strong demand internationally and in the home market. Southern Star International pre-sold the third series to France (AB Droits) and Italy (Market Management), while other investment comes from the Film Finance Corp. Australia and the New South Wales Film & Television Office, plus license fees from ABC-TV and Nickelodeon Australia. The first two seasons were snapped up by buyers in numerous territories including France (Filles TV), Italy (Mediaset), the UK (Five), Germany (ARD), Middle East, Poland, Canada, Latin America, Hungary, New Zealand, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, South Africa, Ireland, Belgium, Sweden and Norway.
