The top 10 online game publishers in Asia will generate more than $US2.5 billion in revenues in 2008, up from more than $2 billion in 2006, according to Pearl Research. Ten online game publishers in Asia each topped $100 million in revenue in 2006, and 13 are expected to hit that mark by 2008 as the online games market continues to expand, Pearl reported. Much of that growth will be driven by China, Vietnam and India, countries which have a large youth population and are becoming more urban, with fast rising Internet and PC penetration. There are more than 400 million Internet users in Asia. Pearl studied these online gaming firms in Asia: CJ Internet, NCsoft, Neowiz, Netease, NHN, Perfect World, Shanda, Soft-World, Tencent and The9.
