Sydney- Foxtel has acquired the local rights to the Dutch format The Singing Office, and production of a 13-part series is underway, hosted by comedian Nick Giannopoulos. The series aims to turn everyday working Australians into singing and dancing superstars. Each episode introduces five workers from two very different Australian companies, who will audition, learn to sing and dance in a ‘boot camp.’ then take part in a sing-off. Also aboard are comedienne Julia Morris, who has returned from London to coach a team of workers each week, and Australia’s so-called most vocal cricket fan, Gus Worland (Fox8’s An Aussie Goes Barmy), who will mentor the other group of employees who are keen to make their mark on the stage. Judges will decide each week’s winner, who then move through to the grand final. The series will premiere on Fox8 in early September.
