New York- Team-based professional mixed martial arts league, the International Fight League (IFL), and Alfred Haber Distribution (AHDI) has added Star TV as its first TV partner in Asia to carry IFL programming on the Star Sports platform which reaches more than 300 million viewers in 50 countries. According to Gareb Shamus, IFL co-founder and CEO, mixed martial arts has a “storied history” in Asia, and the organizers are “eager” for the emerging fan base to see the IFL on a regular basis. Star TV adds to the IFL TV platform that includes over 50 countries in the Middle East and Africa on free-to-air Pan-Arab news and entertainment channel, MBC; CanWest Global in Canada which distributes IFL programs on the Global X-Treme Sports Channel; MyNetwork TV’s IFL Battleground and Fight Night shows in the US, as well as Armed Forces Network worldwide.
