London- Roma Khanna will join NBC Universal International as President, Global Networks and Digital Initiatives, effective from September 17. Based in London, she reports to Peter Smith, President, NBC Universal International. Khanna is responsible for generating growth through geographical expansion, local and pan-regional partnerships, and new channel creation, with a focus on strengthening the content and identity of the Sci-Fi, 13th Street and Universal Channel brands internationally. She will also leverage regional synergies and cross-platform alliances through sales, marketing and advertising strategies. In addition, Khanna will oversee the Digital Initiatives division and create new digital businesses and content, with Kevin Obi, Senior Vice President, Digital Assets reporting to her. Khanna joins from Canadian media company CHUM Television where she guided the TV group’s domestic and international content creation, pre-licensing, programme acquisitions and distribution efforts as Co-Head and Senior Vice President of Content.
