Shanghai- FremantleMedia is partnering with China-based media communications group GroupM China, international sports and media company Kickworldwide, and Hunan Satellite TV to premiere Soccer Prince in August 2007. An original sports talent show developed and co-owned by FremantleMedia and Kickworldwide to seek out China’s best young soccer players, Soccer Prince is intended to serve as a talent scout to propel Chinese players into major leagues internationally. GroupM is involved through its Entertainment, Sports, and Partnerships Division, which develops branded content and advertiser-funded programming for China. The talent search will take place through soccer schools and auditions in six provinces including Beijing, Guangdong, Hunan, Shanghai, Hubei and Sichuan. Selected players will go to Changsha for coaching and assessments as they face elimination. One-year apprenticeships at English Premier League football clubs Everton and Bolton Wanderers will be awarded to the winner and runner-up respectively.
