Hong Kong- Local media reported that China Mobile is looking to obtain a controlling stake in Phoenix TV to expand its mobile TV service to provide nationwide coverage of the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 via 3G technology. China Mobile Group acquired 19.9% of Phoenix TV’s shares in June 2006 and is currently its second largest shareholder. The two companies have been co-operating on developing and promoting wireless content, products, service and application and to expand the wireless media market. Phoenix TV estimates its advertising income will grow by more than 10% during the Olympic Games.
