Sydney- Former CNN International executive Bruce Dover is the new Chief Executive of Australia Network, ABC-TV’s international television service to Asia, the Pacific and the Indian sub-continent. Dover, who starts on August 6, succeeds Ian Carroll, who was appointed the ABC’s Director of Innovation earlier this year. He will report to the Director of ABC International, Murray Green, who oversees Radio Australia, International Projects and Australia Network Dover is a former Deputy Editor of The Australian newspaper and founding editor of Business Asia magazine. From 1995 he was the Beijing-based Vice President of News Corporation (China) before returning to Sydney to head News Limited’s online division, News Interactive. In 2000 he was appointed Managing Editor (Asia) of CNN International. In 2003, he left CNN to establish a strategic consulting company focusing on the Asia region.
