Singapore- Irdeto, provider of content security for digital TV, IPTV and mobile networks, has opened a new office in Singapore and is adding to its facility in Beijing and regional offices in South Korea, Australia, Thailand and India to bring the total number of worldwide offices to 13. It’s also expanding operations in India, for which it is recruiting a new India country manager. Irdeto has been selected to accelerate digital migration of Chengdu Cable’s operations which has over 1.2 million subscribers. Chengdu Cable will deploy Irdeto Digital TV solution to simulcrypt with its existing Novel Tongfang conditional access (CA) system first rolled out in 2006. The first 50,000 Irdeto smart cards will be delivered to Chengdu Cable in September 2007, and a total of 400,000 smart cards are expected to be shipped before June 2008.
