Cannes- Sparrowhawk Media, owner of the international Hallmark Channels, has acquired the two-part, four-hour mini-series Prairie Giant: The Tommy Douglas Story, from Minds Eye International. Available in 153 countries to more than 60 million viewers, Hallmark will air the mini-series across its 13 feeds in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Asia. Prairie Giant: The Tommy Douglas Story profiles politician Tommy Douglas, who was voted the greatest Canadian of all time for his efforts in eradicating poverty and injustice. Sparrowhawk has also snapped up the Australian drama series Sea Patrol from Portman Film and Television. Sea Patrol focuses on the crew of men and women on board a Navy patrol boat, who provide security, surveillance and protection for the world’s largest island and longest coastline. The series was created and is executive produced by Hal and Di McElroy of McElroy All Media for the Nine Network.
