Shanghai- Shanghai Interactive Television Co Ltd is launching China's first 3D channel on May 1.

The 3D programmes, which require special glasses to view,  will include documentaries, Olympic sports games and entertainment, the Xinhua news agency reported.

SiTV operates 21 paid digital channels which reach more than 5.7 million viewers.
