Cannes- Buena Vista International Television-Asia Pacific has concluded its first Video-on-Demand deal in Hong Kong and renewed its output deal with Malaysia’s biggest broadcaster Media Prima. The studio is supplying a range of current and library features from Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures and Miramax Films for rent on-demand via ViDeOnline Communication’s O8Media internet platform, which launches this month in Hong Kong. In addition, the deal enables ViDeOnline to distribute Disney movies on-demand to Hutchison broadband customers on a pay-per-view and subscription basis, allowing users to rewind, pause and fast-forward during the movie. Hutchison launches its broadband to PC service in April jointly with ViDeOnline’s O8Media platform. Disney movies on-demand will also be available to Hutchison TV customers when the company rolls out its digital set-top box service later this year. The deal with Media Prima extends a 15-year relationship with the broadcaster, and will give its free-to-air networks TV3, 8TV and NTV7 an extensive range of programming including new and returning live action series,
