The BBC announces new factual drama Steeltown Murders
Filming has begun on Steeltown Murders (working title), a new factual drama written by Ed Whitmore (Manhunt, Safe House) and made by Severn Screen (The Pembrokeshire Murders, Hidden/Craith) for the BBC in association with All3Media International. COO Caroline Thomson to leave BBC
The BBC has confirmed that Chief Operating Officer Caroline Thomson will be leaving the broadcaster at the end of September. The move follows Director-General George Entwistle’s announcement that he is closing the post of Chief Operating Officer as part of the restructuring of his senior team. George Entwistle named new Director-General of BBC
The BBC has announced that George Entwistle will succeed Mark Thompson as the Director-General of the BBC with his first priority to prepare the BBC for the review of its Royal Charter. Entwistle, who is the current Director of BBC Vision, will take over from current Director-General Mark Thompson who announced his intention to leave the BBC in March earlier this year.
