ABC’s budget to be cut by US$120 million
As a result of decisions made by Australia’s Federal Government, ABC’s budget will be cut over the next four years.
The multi-platform media cooperation will enable ABC International to establish an online portal in China.
The statement comes in response to reports that the Australian government could scrap the ABC’s Australia Network Asian broadcasting service in the May budget.
ABC will begin a search for a new head of its television networks immediately and hope to make an appointment in early 2013.
