Asia is leading the global 3D broadcasting industry, stepping ahead of the US and Europe, reports The Chosun Ilbo. Japan successfully broadcast 3D HDTV via satellite more than a decade ago during the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, and since 2007 Japan's BS11 cable channel has been airing 3D sports and travel programs four times a day. China - National broadcaster CCTV launched the country's first internet television station CNTV.cn, reports People's Daily Online. CNTV.cn will broadcast news, sports, entertainment and two online video products, Bugu and Xiyou. Xiyou serves as a community where users can share their uploaded videos and communicate with each other. Japan’s terrestrial digital-analog signal conversion for CATV to end in 2015
Japan - The communications ministry, Japan Broadcasting Corporation and private-sector TV broadcasters approved a proposal to end the service of converting signals for terrestrial digital broadcasts into analog signals for cable TV broadcasters in March 2015, said the ministry, as reported by Japan Today.
