Munich-based media group Telcast GmbH has promoted Angela Richardson to Head of Sales. She joined Telcast as Head of Acquisitions in 1998 and has managed several regions including Asia, Africa and The Middle East, which opened up new markets for the company. ABU appeals to IOC to prioritize FTA broadcasters for Olympic broadcast rights
Tehran – The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) has called on the International Olympic Council (IOC) to prioritize free-to-air broadcasters when distributing Olympic Games’ broadcast rights and to sell the rights directly to the free-to-air broadcasters. Pay-TV piracy bill reads US$1.54 billion for 2007
Hong Kong – The survey of revenue leakage over the last 12 months in the regional pay-TV industry conducted by CASBAA and Standard Chartered Bank, has placed losses at $US1.54 billion, up from $US1.13 billion in 2006.
