Washington – National Geographic Global Media (NGGM) has created National Geographic Entertainment, which combines into a single operating group National Geographic’s Cinema Ventures, Feature Films, Kids Entertainment, Home Entertainment and Music & Radio divisions. The new unit will be led by David Beal, who has been promoted to President, National Geographic Entertainment, from his former role of President, National Geographic Music & Radio, where he was responsible for the launch of Nat Geo Music cable channel in Europe, the new global radio service, the Society’s music website and National Geographic Cinema Ventures’ upcoming distribution of U2 3D feature film in January 2008. Beal reports to Tim Kelly, newly appointed President of National Geographic Global Media. Kelly oversees books and magazine publishing, as well as National Geographic Ventures, the Society’s wholly owned, taxable subsidiary.
