Al Jazeera chief ‘confident’ on Singapore licence
Singapore – Al Jazeera Managing Director Nigel Parsons has said he is confident the Qatar-based news network will be successful in its bid to launch in Singapore. Al Jazeera has applied to Singapore’s broadcast industry regulator, the Media Development of Singapore (MDA) for a licence to broadcast on SingTel’s newly-launched IPTV pay-TV service. i-Cable secures Internet and mobile TV rights to Beijing Olympics
Hong Kong- The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has awarded the Hong Kong internet and mobile TV rights to the Beijing Olympics to Wharf TV's i-Cable Sports Limited. i-Cable Sports Limited also acquired exclusive Hong Kong rights across all media platforms for the Olympic Games in Vancouver in 2010 and London in 2012.
