Slew of new HD channels for Sky Perfect
Tokyo - Sky Perfect Jsat is targeting to launch 62 HD channels by the fourth quarter of 2009, with an overall goal of 100 HD channels. Japan's largest satellite broadcaster, with 3.5 million subscribers, just unveiled its mid-term plan for 2008-2012. It aims to have 6 million subs by 2012, across its Sky Perfectv!, e2 and Hikari services. Phoenix looking to land in Taiwan
Taipei - China-focused broadcaster Phoenix Satellite has reapplied to broadcast in Taiwan, seven years after being rejected. A government source told media that Phoenix, which is listed in Hong Kong and allowed limited broadcast rights in China, submitted an application last month. Sydney - International Film Group (IFG) has signed an exclusive deal with award-winning Australian production company FARMkids to act as the sales agent in the Asia-Pacific, as well as a co-production and executive producer agreement with Brisbane-based media content company The Creative Farm.
