Taipei – China-focused broadcaster Phoenix Satellite has reapplied to broadcast in Taiwan, seven years after being rejected. A government source told media that Phoenix, which is listed in Hong Kong and allowed limited broadcast rights in China, submitted an application last month. Phoenix Satellite, headed by former Colonel Liu Changle, applied for landing rights in Taiwan back in 2001, but was rejected under the administration of former President Chen Shui-bian. But cross-Strait relations have improved under the administration of new President Ma Ying-jeou.
