The auction of ProtoStar 1 has been delayed by a fortnight due to newly-expressed interest from potential buyers. Originally scheduled for 14 October 2009, that date now becomes the deadline for bidders to express preliminary interest. Bids are now due 23 October, with the auction rescheduled for 29 October. Kuala Lumpur – MEASAT Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd. (MEASAT) is pleased to announce the successful lift-off of the LandLaunch launch vehicle from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan carrying the MEASAT-3a satellite into orbit.
